Dispute
If a consumer believes an item of information on their credit report is
inaccurate or incomplete, they have the right to challenge, or dispute the item.
Credit reporting bureaus will investigate and correct or remove any inaccurate
information or information that cannot be verified. Some credit reporting bureaus give
consumers the option of disputing debts online, or they may call the telephone number on their credit report for assistance.
